Delta Chi Lodge Revamp - Texas Tech

Hey Brothers! Kyle Fletcher here. Delta Chi pledge/initiate in 1991 at Texas Tech.

I have a son, Carson, who is a pledge this fall with Delta Chi at TTU. The chapter had 45 bids accepted for the fall 2021 and I believe they have 37 pledges still grinding through the semester. I just visited the lodge this weekend for Parents Weekend, and although the guys are very lucky to have a house on Greek Circle, there is a ton of work that needs to be done to upgrade the house to compare with the other fraternities in the neighborhood. Trust me the picture on this post is not current and things have gone down substantially. Here is a list (not all inclusive) of things that need to be done to get the house up to standards:

New exterior windows

New shutters

Sod for the front yard

Landscaping to include plants, mulch etc

Men and Women main bathroom overhaul

Interior paint throughout

Exterior paint

Driveway/Parking Lot Asphalt work

Interior trim paint and some replacement

Front door replacement

Front door combo lock replacement

Chairs for chapter room and officers

Improved interior lighting

Etc…

The current group of actives and associates are working hard to make everything look as good as possible, but honestly they don’t have a lot to work with. They have a great group of guys who are very active across campus and are consistently in the top 5 overall chapter GPA’s every semester.

My hope is to get y’all’s support so contractors can be brought in to complete the larger work and have available funds for the guys to do the smaller jobs themselves. I know we all remember how scarce funds were for these kinds of things while active. Any amount would be very appreciated by the guys…and every penny given (minus GoFundMe fees) will go directly to the chapter. If we could get enough participation maybe we could offer some sort of alumni scholarship for associates/actives that are struggling to pay dues. If you aren’t aware associate dues are up to $1300 per semester these days!! I know some are struggling to pay.
