“.. the Delphine Trio looks set to become a major presence, with playing, and programming, full of vitality and imagination.” - Classical Music Daily 2022
The Delphine Trio brings together three passionate young musicians from opposite ends of the globe: Australian clarinetist Magdalenna Krstevska, Dutch cellist Jobine Siekman and pianist Roelof Temmingh, hailing from South Africa. Founded in 2020 at the Royal College of Music (London), the Delphine Trio showcases a combination of individual instrumental talent, intelligent and curious music-making, and a passion for diverse repertoire.
Having each completed Masters’ degrees at the RCM, each member of Delphine Trio was also awarded an RCM Junior Fellowship – a rare combination.
The Delphine Trio were finalists in the 2022 Royal Overseas League Competition in London and have recorded at Abbey Rd Studios. They have performed at UK music festivals and series such as Buxton International Festival, Banstead Arts Festival, the Kensington & Chelsea Music Society Concert Series and the Royal Albert Hall Classical Coffee Morning Series. In the Netherlands they have performed in Almere, Loosdrecht, and the Mosterdzaadje, and in 2022 were awarded the Mengelberg Fonds bursary to participate in the Apeldoorn Masterclass series. They have received coaching from esteemed musicians including Colin Lawson, Charles Neidich and Danny Driver.
The Delphine Trio are avid proponents of diversity in classical music and aim to reflect this through their exploration of repertoire and concert programming. They are passionate about discovering hidden gems of the repertoire and are currently working towards recording their debut CD. More details to follow soon.
