hi, we are Caylee Boorse and Lauren Amerena. We have been part of the Saint Rose Women’s Soccer team for our college journey. This year, we had an incoming teammate who has fought to get herself here all the way from Ghana. After months of traveling and fighting to get her visa approved, Delphine finally arrived to Saint Rose on November 11th. 11 days after, Saint Rose had an unexpected and heartbreaking announcement that it will be closing its doors at the end of the academic year.

Delphine spent her life savings to get herself to the US, after a long and hard journey for 2 months. Her Visa appointment was denied more than once, where she was forced to travel between Ghana, Uganda and South Africa. This led to many sleepless nights and stressful times for not only Delphine, but our coaching staff and team in general. Our coach Laurie Darling Gutheil worked so hard to get Delphine to America every day, putting in countless hours and efforts to help get her visa and to also keep her comfort that she will make it out here. due to the circumstances in Ghana, it is a struggle for Delphine to have the financial support.

Delphine is a Marketing MBA student with a 3.75 gpa. She is receiving a high level of education here in America where she excels. Delphine spent the first 3/4 of the semester doing her class work online. She did all of her work through her cellphone because she did not have a laptop in Ghana.

Besides education, Delphine is a very technical and fast defensive soccer player. She would be a great asset for many teams over the entire nation. She has a high work ethic, and can prove that she belongs on any team.

Please consider helping us raise money to help our teammate stay in the United States. It is very beneficial for her to stay in America, where it is her dream to finish her MBA and continue to play the game of soccer and the level she deserves.
