After a multi-year battle with endometrian cancer, my mom (Della D. Johnson) was finally called home to rest on the afternoon of Saturday, March 4th, 2017. While it saddens me more than words or tears can express to see her go, I find some peace in knowing that she is now healed and will suffer no more.

As my sister Genia and I are working to finalize her funeral arrangements, we are learning quickly about the costs of funerals... and how quickly out-of-pocket expenses can mount up. It is definitely not our style to ask for financial assistance, but the time has called for us to put down our pride and ask for help.

The funeral services will be held on Friday, March 10th at C.N. Jenkins Memorial Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, NC. Viewing/visitation will begin at 11:00a and the memorial service will start promptly at noon. All funds received from this request will go towards funeral, burial and re-pass (i.e. the after-service family meal) expenses.
