Della showed symptoms this afternoon of bloating. This is a very serious issue and if it's not addressed immediately it can become fatal. We didn't do much out of the ordinary today, went for a walk with a friend and her dog. Stopped at her house afterwards, the dogs played a little bit. After that we went to another friend's house for about an hour. Then headed home. When we got home Della finally ate her breakfast and drank a lot of water. I believe she must have done this too quickly because within 30 minutes she began having symptoms. I brought her to the emergency vet within an hour and and sure  enough she had GDV. (Gastric Dilatation Volvulus) I was faced with a decision of euthanizing her today or going to surgery. Those were my only options. I couldn't let her go. She's all I have.  So, I chose surgery, but at a very expensive cost. Estimate is between $6-9k. I hate to ask people for money or even help for that matter. But this was a big hit financially. If you can help at all with this expense, I will be eternally grateful. The estimate is posted and once Della is discharged, I will post the final bill.
