deLIVERance - Jenny Gosnell's Liver Cancer Fund

If you don't love Jenny, it's just cause you haven't met her.

In times of need, everyone says they'd give you the shirt off their back. But only Jenny would go so far as to give you the pants off her ass just to make sure you're comfortable and happy while she’s visibly shivering with bare buttocks in the breeze, smiling and saying, “I’m totally fine!!! Warm even!!". This hypothetical lends just a smidge of imagery to the kind of person Jenny is-- not a nudist, but someone who will always sacrifice their own experience to improve yours. That said, it’s time for all of us to non-consensually help the human who would help anyone without pause while respectfully rejecting the same in return.

In early December 2022, Jenny was diagnosed with liver cancer. She is currently being treated at UCLA and traveling back and forth for surgeries, radiation, etc. while she waits for a liver transplant-- which can take up to 3 years on average. Her medical team is confident they will be able to continue to keep the cancer at bay with radiation (using a method called microwave ablation) which they are doing surgically while Jenny is fully anesthetized. Each time she undergoes this surgery, she is missing multiple days of work while traveling to LA, spending a minimum of one full day in the hospital, then staying in a hotel near UCLA once she is discharged before returning home.

Jenny had the first of these surgeries on December 12th and is headed to LA for the second round tomorrow morning. This procedure will reoccur for the foreseeable future. In the interim, she has and will continue to travel back and forth for blood and bone testing, MRIs, meetings with oncologists and radiologists, etc. and ultimately will receive a liver transplant when a match is available, at which time she will be both in the hospital / temporarily living near the hospital for an extended and currently unknown duration.

The last thing in the world Jenny needs to be worrying about right now is money-- be it for funding medical treatments, time off work, or accommodations when staying overnight near UCLA post-treatment. The list, unfortunately, goes on. Although Jenny would never ask for it herself and was reluctant to allow anyone to do so on her behalf, this GoFundMe was created to support our girl by throwing as many dollars as we can her way to relieve her of any money-related stressors, allowing her to focus solely on her health and healing. She's determined to beat this-- and because she's Jenny, she will AND she's going to make it an absolute party every step of the way (under 21 style for the sanctity of livers everywhere) just as she does with all things in life.

Google "generosity" "chivalry" and "relentless positivity"-- it will just be pictures of Jenny (not really, but it should be). Whether it's $1 or $1M, the positive impact you will have on Jenny's journey cannot be understated. She is going through something that no one should ever have to experience - let alone someone with a heart so big you wouldn't think it could anatomically fit in a body so small.

I will be updating on Jenny's behalf periodically on this platform (if I don't know you, hi I'm Janine - Jenny’s platonic other half) and want to thank you for lending support in any way you're able to the world's beloved Jenny Gosnell.

EXTRA CREDIT : with your donation, write something funny to make Jenny laugh. She says all she wants is to laugh. So anyway there's that, in case anyone possessed a solitary doubt about her being perfect.
