I'm Kate, and later this year, I will be driving 1,500 miles to Ukraine to deliver a 4x4 packed full of vital, high-quality medical and humanitarian aid.

Vehicles like this are desparately needed for civilian evacuations in the East of Ukraine where families, many of whom were previously displaced from the 2014 invasion, find their homes, communities and livlihoods the target of wanton aggression on a daily basis. In the hands of our brave partners in Ukraine, a vehicle like this wil, on average save 50 lives.

To offer some perspective, that's 50 people who get to keep their futures. 250 people who don't have to feel the loss of a loved one; a partner, a child, a parent. 750 people spared the loss of a close friend. People exactly like you and me. This is a tragedy in danger of becoming a statstic amid the din of the news cycle, but you would be suprised the power that you as an individual have to help our fellow people. I'm fortunate enough to be in a position to have the security and time to join the convoy. I will be driving with Convoy4Ukraine, a registered charity who will be delivering their 300th vehicle on our next convoy. They have established and are expanding a true aid pipleine with a focus on logistics and quality, while making it easier for you and I to make a meaningful difference. On this convoy, as well as the 4x4s like mine, I will be driving with several ambulances and even a fire engine!

While this will be a personal challenge for me, that pales in comparison to that of the volunteers who will ultimately use these vehicles to evacuate civilians at great personal risk, the medics who use our aid to save lives, and those who's daily job is to facilitate lifesaving logistics at every step of the way, every single day, to ensure a future that most of us get to take for granted. We owe it to these individuals to make their lives as easy as we possibly can by listening- providing the aid that is most needed, of a high quality, and in a form that is practical for the work that comes after ours.
