Hi Everyone, Tom and Jaime-leigh here, Dexters dad and mum. Not something we thought we'd be doing but It is with the heaviest heart that we are reaching out to all of our friends and family to help support Dexter with his care as We know how much he is loved by you all and want to give him the best chance, love and care.

We have had the heartbreaking news on friday after treating dexter for a couple of weeks prior for bad back pain that wouldn't go away and got referred to Anderson moore for specialist advice and a MRI, where the plan was that if he had slipped a disc they were going to operate and sort the issue, however Dexter unfortunately a large tumor inside his spinal cavity pushing on his spinal cord. The tumor itself is in an awkward place and therefore surgery isn't viable. Without treatment we only have a good few weeks with Dex, as this tumor is already crushing half his spinal cord within his neck.

We have seen several specialist over the last 5 days and we have had to have and make very difficult decisions. However we have already started chemotherapy and we are on the road to radiotherapy as i write this. With all of the information from specialist and scans and other case studies we believe the radiotherapy will provide the best long term outcome for Dex, allowing him live out his natural life span.

At the moment Dexter has had an MRI, biopsies, bloods ,CT with contrast , Chemotherapy and a whole load of pain management meds. As you can imagine this has eaten away at our insurance budget for treatment. His radio therapy is estimated to be in the region of 10-11k so will be well over our insurance so any support would make a huge difference to us and also our Dexter.
