The show is the creation of married couple Diarmuid and Victoria McLaughlin, two Belfast-based teachers with a shared love for theatre and musicals. What began as a playful idea during the excitement of the Eras Tour soon evolved into a fully developed original concept. With Victoria’s deep-rooted Swiftie fandom and Diarmuid’s background in drama and writing, the couple began crafting Delicate from scratch—bringing together their passion and experience to build something entirely new.

Delicate: Their Musical is entirely self-funded and independently produced, with no public funding behind it. From early drafts to casting, rehearsals, and workshops, every step has been driven by the creators’ dedication and the support of a growing creative team—including local teacher turned Musical Director Kimberley Mort.
