Delia's Top Surgery Fundraiser

Hi y’all! My name is Delia Curtis. Those of you seeing this probably already know me, but if you don’t, thank you so much for taking the time to visit my GoFundMe page. I am a 28 year old non-binary lesbian who’s getting top surgery in February 2025. (My date is set for February 4th!!). It’s a rare thing for me to ask for help and writing about myself isn’t something that I’m thrilled about doing, but I need my community's help.

I have been out as a lesbian since 2017 and out as nonbinary since 2021. Learning about myself, my identity and my body has been a wild journey, but one that I cherish deeply. The act of knowing oneself and feeling confident in that sense of understanding is something I don’t take for granted. Queer community has been there for me through it all. The tragedies and the triumphs and I am as strong as I am because of it. I often find myself in the role of helper as a butch lesbian and a general empath, and asking others to bear my burden and load isn’t easy for me, but I do so out of necessity and understanding that we do what we can for each other because it will all come back around someday. Being able to feel the wind on my chest, to move with ease and to breathe easy is all I’ve ever wanted. And with that, I thank you for reading and hope you’ll follow me along on this journey to achieving a body I am happy and comfortable in and one that I can love without question.

I am a journalist, writer and creative and while I wholeheartedly love what I do, it isn’t exactly the most lucrative field. That being said, I am trying to raise funds to help cover the cost of my gender-affirming top surgery, cosmetic liposculpting (liposuction to help reduce the need for revision/dog ears/excess fat and skin) and post-operative care. All of that will be coming out to about $5500 total. I have already put down my $500 deposit to secure my date which will go toward the surgery, so I am looking to raise the remaining $5000. In the meantime, I’ve been saving up money as I go as well as selling jewelry and other handicrafts that I’ve made myself to raise funds. It would mean the world to me to be able to afford this gender-affirming care without sinking myself into debt and this is where you come in. I would be incredibly grateful for any donations that you are willing and able to make. And if you’re unable to donate for whatever reason, I would absolutely love it if you could share it with those who can. That’s the power of community, baby!!

$250~500 - post-operative care (bandages, surgical vests, scar tap, creams, mastectomy pillows etc. etc.)
