Our names are Tianna and Surina Lee-Pennant. Our mother Deliann Lee passed away on March 21st, 2024 after a life long battle to Sickle Cell Amenia.
Sickle Cell Amenia disease (SCD) is a blood disorder. Sickle cell causes a constant shortage of red blood cells. Also, it may clog through the blood flow which develop sudden attacks of pain (known as a sickle cell crisis), anemia, swelling in the hands and feet, bacterial infections acute chest and stroke.
For our mom, Deliann Lee, there have been countless hospitalizations for pain crises, sleepless nights, numerous procedures/operations, countless blood transfusions and two strokes just in the last few years.
Despite her health challenges, our mother was a fighter and determined for us to be our best. She was a single mother of two teenage daughters, now 19 and 16. As you can imagine with countless visits to the hospital, that left her limited with the ability to work.
Tianna (19) is currently a student at Umass Dartmouth and Surina (16) is a junior year at Pioneer Charter School of Science II, both looking to accomplish one of mom’s wishes: graduate college.
The emotional, physical, and financial toll it takes is immeasurable. Our mother showed up everyday and night for us.
As we face numerous changes in our lives and we are planning the funeral, we recognize the need for financial assistance. We have created a GoFundMe page to help cover these expenses and rely on the generosity of friends, family, and kind-hearted individuals like you.
