Delbert Deveau’s Cancer Fund
Recently we have found out Delbert has been diagnosed with Liver cancer. It is an aggressive form of cancer common in people who have colitis. The tumour was discovered to be around the size of baseball and after two months grew an addition 20cm. It is an inoperable tumour due to it being located near major veins of the liver. The original plan was to have 2 weeks of radiation to shrink the tumour enough, then have surgery to allow the liver to grow more on the other side. Once this happens they could cut half the liver off with the tumour. He was not able to do both Chemo and Radiation at the same time due to colitis and other health issues.
Recent scans have shown that it has spread to possibly the back region and other places on the liver. Now he will be doing 9 weeks of Chemotherapy at the Sydney Hospital instead and once they see the cancer has been reduced they will follow up with radiation then surgery. Making matters worse...Elsie (wife) has found out recently she has lost her job where she was an employee for over 15 years. It has been a rough time for our family and any means of support are welcome.
