Hi, my name is Delaney Ratay and I am reaching out to raise the remaining funds to attend and complete my training to become a linewoman at Southeast Lineman Training Center in Trenton, Georgia in May of 2024. I am pleased to be the only woman enrolled in the 74th class!
I am a nute high school class of 2023 graduate. I have thought long and hard before i chose where I wanted to land career wise in life and I knew I wanted to be in the trades! after much research and talking to friends and family my interest and desire to become a trained lineman grew. having watched my brother in laws career flourish, as well as so may in his family and many I have come to follow and know, who have become inspirations to me. My goal is to complete training, come out with a CDL A license. Gain employment and work hard to earn my journeyman ticket. And become a skilled trained WOMAN in a very male dominated career path just makes me want to push harder to succeed. I happen to come from a family of strong awesome women so I know I can do it!
I began saving right away working my full-time job as a line cook for a great little place. I have been awarded the country lineman scholarship of $ 5000.00 from SLTC and my parents were graciously able to cosign on a personal loan for some of my tuition. however, that does not cover the cost of my housing or a deposit to the school for the loan.
Uortunately, I did not qualify for any federal student loans as SLTC does not qualify for fasfa at this trade school. which in my opinion is ridiculous. I am trying as hard as i can to raise these funds so i don't have to put off my dream. and help or shares would be so appreciated beyond measure. and I intend to pay it forward in anyway I can.
Thank you so very much for your consideration.
