Help Support Delana Basanisi in Her Fight Against Leukemia

Hi, my name is Dan Roud, and I’m the PGA Head Professional at Lookout Point Country Club in Fonthill, Ontario. I’m reaching out on behalf of our entire golf community to support one of the most passionate and positive people we’ve had the pleasure of working alongside — Delana Basanisi, PGA of Canada Assistant Professional.

Delana was recently diagnosed with acute leukemia, a life-altering illness that has placed her on a path of aggressive and immediate treatment. She is currently receiving care at the Juravinski Cancer Centre, where she will be undergoing intensive therapy over the coming months.

At just 25, Delana has already made an incredible impact on our members, junior golfers, and fellow staff through her kindness, her talent, and her unwavering dedication to the game. She has been the driving force behind creating our first U11 junior program — a true passion project — and has touched the lives of so many families through her mentorship and energy.

This diagnosis came as a shock, and while Delana is facing this fight with strength and courage, the road ahead will come with emotional, physical, and financial challenges. Our goal is to help relieve some of the financial burden associated with time away from work, medical expenses, and the day-to-day costs of navigating this difficult journey.
