Deja Vu Vintage Orlando I cannot stop the rain

Hello Deja Viewers, family, friends, and Earthlings,
My name is Red Robin. In 1986 I opened a small vintage resale shop named Deja Vu Vintage Clothing & Accessories, and have operated it since. (#Dejavuvintageorlando). My goal was to create a fun, unique, shop that customers would enjoy experiencing. It's a lot of work, finding the inventory, laundry ,cleaning, sewing, pricing, displaying, book work, running it daily, etc. but I LOVE it. I meet interesting, diverse people of all ages, walks of life and parts of the planet. It is not a lucrative career, but I manage.
Since 1986, I have not had more than 6 days in a row off, except during a hurricane Then in March 2020, Covid-19 made it mandatory for me to close for over a month. Covid-19 is scary and concerning, and frankly sucks, and I understood this necessity.
Having to pay an income tax return was pushed back to July, so for now I could live off the money I had saved to pay that. There is no new income coming in. I tried to apply for unemployment, good luck with that, and finally sent in a paper app. Have heard nothing. I tried to apply for the ppp loan, good luck with that! Finally found a way to submit an app. Have heard nothing.
January, February, March, and most of April have been dry, then the third week of April it rained. A lot. After the rains I went and checked on the shop. To my horror, the roof had leaked in at least a dozen different places! All over, the gypsum ceiling tiles were stained, buckling, breaking thru and leaking inside. To my astonishment, most of the inventory had been spared! The landlord was contacted, he's a really great guy, and he immediately contacted roofers for a new roof, and spent hours helping me clean up. Everything inside is now covered with tarps. The roofers cannot start until they get a permit, and with city offices closed, it has to be applied for online. After that, the ceiling tiles will have to be replaced, the floor cleaned and the shop put back in order. The restrictions on Covid-19 have been lifted allowing me to reopen, yet now I cannot, and probably won't be able to till June 2020.
Friends, family, and customers suggested I start a go fund me page. I was/am resistant because I feel that there are so many people with greater needs who need help. It was the advice from a client that prompted me to do it. She told me Deja Vu is bigger than me, it fills a niche in society, and in peoples lives. That there are people that care about me, the shop, and in helping if they can. That I needed to separate pride and guilt and see it as an opportunity.
So here it is, a go fund me page. The requested amount should cover the months worth of expenses and fees.
I offer my heartfelt gratitude and appreciation in return. And to everyone I offer well wishes and wellness.
Please share this on your own social media, as I am a tech dinosaur and don't know how else to spread the word.
Thank you all, and I Hope to see you soon
