Deja Blue Salon has had the pleasure of providing quality hair and beauty services on the boulevard to the Castro Valley community for the past 18 years. We are a close-knit team of 9 professional stylists and one aestetician. Unlike many other businesses that have been allowed to maintain their operations or remain open for curbside pick-up during this pandemic, we are not considered an “Essential business” We had to close our doors to comply with the shelter in place order on March 16th. Although many people might consider hair Salons essential, our government disagrees. We have been recently informed that we will be part of the Phase-3 re-opening which may, or may not, happen sometime next month.
As a small business owner, I have applied for numerous financial loans available from government and banking sources, but sadly have not been approved for any to date. Our salon stations are rented to independent contractors, and because I do not have payroll employees, we don’t qualify for PPP loans. I am now unfortunately not able to meet my overdue salon rental and utility payments, and I have been forced to transfer as much of my operating debts to credit cards as possible.
I’m asking for members of our community for generous help to make sure our doors will stay open in the future.
I would like your help to offer some relief to the Deja Blue Salon and our dedicated stylists and aestetician. We are honored to be able to serve you in this community and would like to continue to do so for years to come. Please consider giving a small gift to support us and help us get through these difficult times. Thank you so much for your generosity and understanding.
