As a result of the donations we have received, my mommy’s cremation has been paid for, and she is now home with me. Thank you so much to everyone who donated here, and elsewhere.

In light of this development, I have lowered the goal to $3500, since the most important thing has been covered. At this time, there is no memorial service planned, due to a lack of funding. Unbeknownst to us, the family insurance policies have been utilized and expired, leaving us in a position where it’s simply unrealistic to try to plan a homegoing celebration. We are accepting donations at this point to cover the cost of the urn, which I will be buying separately so I can get a better deal than I would’ve at the funeral home. Any other donations will be used to cover a very small memorial in Los Angeles, California where family and friends can gather to honor my mom. Even if we don’t manage to make this event a reality, I would like to invite everyone to honor my mother in their own way, and host their own memorials in their own areas.

my mom always said that she never wanted a funeral, but rather a big party. Regardless of whether or not a formal memorial happens, I request that you take a day out to party in memory of my mother. Thank you all again.

Deidre was diagnosed with Renal Failure in 2018 and was told she had only 6 months to 1 year left to live. On the morning of February 27, 2023, the Lord called Deidre L. Shaw to her true home. Unfortunately, no prior arrangements for her passing were made and a financial hardship has befallen her surviving daughter.

This GoFundMe has been established to cover the cost of the deceased's final wishes that her remains be Alkaline Hydrolyzed. Aquamation or Alkaline Hydrolysis is a process that uses Alkaline Water, Lye, and Heat in a pressure system to reduce the remains of humans and animals into dust. Aquamation/Alkaline Hydrolysis is an alternative to cremation that uses 10% of the energy needed for cremation. It is the same cost as traditional cremation. Funds will also cover memorial efforts.

Deidre is survived by two brothers, a daughter, and her recently born grandson. The cost of the Aquamation is $2,805.
