DE Eagles community has spoken!
We are in our second semester of the Nurse Aide Program at Dover Eyota and there’s no sign of us stopping!
Work is being done to get permanent funding for MN students to have the cost of the certification exam covered or waived through grants and legislation.
Our first group of nurse aide students, Spring 2025, all had the benefit of the MN Nurse Aide certification exam costs being covered from the Minnesota State College Southeast’s budget (they had just enough leftover from the state-wide grant) to take care of our 20 Eagles (as long as they took the certification exam before June 1, 2025).
They did it!
Despite the bumpy roads and chaos that comes along with launching a brand new program…all 20 students successfully completed the course and over 2/3 opted to take the certification exam and passed!!!
What we are asking of you:
- follow the post on Facebook to get updates and see fun moments captured
- consider donating (any amount is appreciated) towards the fund that will be used strictly to provide the opportunity for every eligible Nurse Aide students to take the MN Certification exam at no cost to them or their families.
- Sign up to visit our CNA classroom through the High School Office protocol, meet our patients, try out some skills yourself and follow the class of Fall 2025 as they work towards a career- launching certification in the healthcare field!
We hope funding comes our way so that the next class is free of this cost worry- things don’t always move that fast in government… so any funds above the need to cover this semester’s exam costs will be directly applied to the next class!!
