Help a Mother Return to School

Hi everyone,

This is really hard for me to share — and honestly, I’ve gone back and forth about even posting this. But after trying everything I can on my own, I’ve decided to reach out for help.

I’ve been given the opportunity to go back to school and continue my education — something I’ve dreamed about for years. I’m eligible for financial aid and ready to move forward, but there’s one thing holding me back: I owe $10,000 to my previous university. Until that balance is cleared, they won’t release my transcript, which means I can’t officially enroll anywhere else.

I’ve been living in Florida on my own since I was 20 years old and pregnant. Since then, I’ve been doing everything I can to build a stable life for my family. Now, as a mother to a toddler and a partner supporting my fiancé as he works toward his own career, I’m carrying a lot — but I’m still fighting to push forward and grow.

Going back to school would change everything for us. It would open doors to better opportunities, stability, and a future I’ve always wanted for my child. I work hard at my job and have even offered to take on more responsibilities just to try and chip away at this debt, but it’s been overwhelming.
