Hi everybody. My name is Erik Nordenson, 85 years old and I would still work if employers hired old guys. So I ride my bike every day instead.
I have been a serious cyclist since 1990. Starting with long distance endurance races, Brevets (including Boston - Montreal - Boston). I completed RAAM qualification races in California (Furnace Creek 508) by riding through Death Valley in 1993, '94 and '95. I qualified to compete in RAAM. Then I moved over to Road racing in the New England area for a number of years. Soon I became drawn to Cyclocross races in the mid 90's and participated in the New England, Colorado, Utah scenes when cross was at its peak in the USA. That culminated in winning 70 - 74 age category 2010 US National Championship in Portland, OR.
I believe continuing to race and train regardless of age is important of keeping healthy. Just because we are reaching the end of a life does not mean that we should give up what we truly enjoy participating in. I feel that I am doing something positive rather than sitting in front of the TV all day. Isn’t that the goal in life
So now I’m looking ahead to the Gravel World Championships. But I need your assistance. I need to cover the considerable costs that will be required.
The funds from kind contributors like you will solely be used to defray hotel and general expenses at the World Championship venue (the venue is yet be determined).
Thank you for reading and contributing.
