Defibrillators Save Lives, Donate Now
Donation protected
Hello, as some of you may already be aware, on the 8th February whilst playing in a hockey match for my club, Finchfield Hockey Club, I collapsed to the floor and went into Cardiac Arrest.
Thankfully, due to the quick thinking and fast actions by my teammates, opponents and emergency services, through CPR and the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) I was resuscitated before being transferred to the Midlands Metropolitan Hospital where I remain undergoing further assessments.
In my case I was extremely lucky to be playing with people who knew what they were doing, trained in CPR and great leaders who remained calm and organised the team of people to my aid.
A defibrillator was present at the facility at which we were playing and coupled with an additional defibrillator from the Ambulance service these are the devices that shocked my heart back into rhythm, in doing so saving my life.
There are many community facilities that still do not have these critical life saving devices.
I want to raise as much money as I can to help purchase as many AED’s as possible to get these into communities and facilities in need as well as utilising them within my hockey club to take to games where the devices may not be present or readily available.
Finally, I am extremely grateful to my teammates, Finchfield Hockey Club, our opponents on the day Kingswinford Hockey Club, the staff at West Midlands Ambulance and Police services as well as all of the medical professionals at Midlands Metropolitan Hospital led by Professor Derek Connolly. The care you have all shown to me has been outstanding.
My family and friends, the love you have shown me in the days since will never be forgotten, thank you x
Your donations will save someone else’s life.
The initial goal has been set to fund the purchase and upkeep of at least 2 AED devices.
