Gaelscoil Mhuscraí Parents’ Association wish to purchase an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), for our school premises.

An AED is a vital piece of equipment in the event of a sudden cardiac arrest. An AED restores the heart’s natural rhythm and if administered in the first 3-5 minutes of the cardiac event, it can lead to a very successful outcome and potentially save a life.

Owing to the geography of Gaelscoil Mhuscraí and the location of the nearest AED in the village, the vital window of opportunity to administer CPR and the use of a defibrillator could be missed in the event of sudden cardiac arrest on our school premises.

Blarney First Responders have recommended the HeartOn A15 Defibrillator . This comes in at €1324.95 including an indoor wall unit,(€1095 plus €229.95 VAT); pads are €59.29 (€49 plus €10.29 VAT), which will need to be replaced every two years.

Tá fonn ar Chumann na dTuistí, Gaelscoil Mhuscraí, AED a cheannach don scoil chun daltaí agus foireann na scoile a choimeád slan sábháilte.

I gcás éigeandála, bheadh sé rí-thábhachtach an AED a úsáid ar an othar laistigh de 3 – 5 nóiméad chun an toradh is fearr a bhaint amach. Sa chás seo, bheadh an seans is mó ag an othar.
