My name is Sam, my son is a member of Fulbeck Kart Club so it is our spiritual racing home. I have reached out and have support from Fulbeck Kart Club, 'The Click', Parents, Drivers, Mike at the Cafe and Rookie Racing.
You may be aware one of the drivers at Fulbeck Kart Club required emergency assistance for a cardiac event. The amazing staff and medical team at Fulbeck worked alongside the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance (LNAA) and East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) to help the driver (he is responding well to treatment, we will provide updates on his condition).
Personally, this is the 2nd person I know who has had a cardiac event at a track. The whole incident made me think, we don't have a Defibrillator permanently on site at Fulbeck.
WE CAN CHANGE THIS.
If you are a Member, Parent, Grandparent, Friend, Official, Visiting Club please donate, access to a Defibrillator can make a life saving difference
We want to raise a minimum of £1584 to install a Defibrillator, due to power constraints this would have to be installed inside. Our DREAM GOAL would be to raise £3673 for a Solar / Wind powered external Defibrillator - Many a Gazebo can tell the tale of how windy Fulbeck can be :-)
- An estimated 30,000 people have a cardiac arrest each year in the UK
- Each minute without defibrillation during a cardiac arrest lowers a person’s chances of survival by up to 10%
- The current survival rate for out of hospital cardiac arrests is 10%. With more access to defibrillators, it’s estimated it could be as high as 50%
- Both CPR and defibrillation, can be conducted on adults, children, and infants alike
Any additional funds raised will go to Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance (LNAA)
