Help a Pastor's Family After Forced Eviction
Donation protected
Our family has been forcibly evicted from our church housing.
This heartbreaking situation began when three church members unlawfully appointed themselves as board directors without proper approval from the congregation or adherence to the church bylaws. They then dismissed the senior pastor without a meeting or vote and initiated an eviction lawsuit against our family, who lived in the church parsonage. Before filing the lawsuit, these individuals withdrew approximately $70,000 of church funds, claiming it as their own, leaving the church financially unable to afford proper legal representation or even pay the senior pastor's salary.
During the eviction proceedings, the court ruled that it did not matter whether these individuals violated the church bylaws in appointing themselves or dismissing the pastor. The judge ruled in their favor, allowing the eviction to proceed. On November 22, our family was forcibly removed from the parsonage.
Since the eviction, we have been unable to retrieve critical documents such as passports, green cards, and social security cards. The individuals in question have refused to return these documents, stating that we must hire professional movers to collect our belongings.
Adding to the burden, the pastor’s children are still college students, and our family also has two beloved dogs to care for. These additional responsibilities make this situation even more challenging as we struggle to cover living, legal, and educational expenses. We are currently staying at a temporary location, but we face significant challenges ahead, including legal fees, securing a new permanent home, and providing for our family and pets.
We humbly ask for your support during this difficult time. Your prayers, generosity, and kindness will help us navigate this hardship and move forward. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference.
Thank you for standing with us in this time of need.
God bless,
