Reclaim Lorelei's House from Creepy Invertebrates

Last month, I was witness to a horror movie, right in my friend's kitchen. A swarm of oh-so-squicky inveretebrated INVADERS caved in a 3ftx4ft chunk of the ceiling. It's enough to give the most even-keeled people the heebie jeebies.
Hi I'm Kathi, and people in the SCA know me as Lucia. They also know my good friend Lorelei Skye - Bardic Laurel, musician, gamer, webmistress for Illiton, birdwatcher, artist, and often stuck at home with multiple medical issues. Her home is her sanctuary, and in early October, it kinda imploded.
It was supposed to be a weekend of relaxing, watching movies, and gabbing. Then we were interrupted by a KKRASHCLUNK noise from the other side of the house. You know in horror movies there's always something terrifying above them, but they don't look up? Yah.... it's worse in real life. We found a huge chunk of fiberglass insulation hanging down from the ceiling, and a punky pile of debris all over the dining room. When we got closer, we discovered the punky stuff was swarming with hundreds of creepy crawly bugs. Termites. Yeah, it's the stuff of nightmares. She called insurance while Tualaith and I got the worst of it cleaned up and sealed off the hole.
This is REALLY bad timing because it was only ten days before her going in for surgery. Again. Spinal fusion. AGAIN. For those of you keeping count, this is her THIRD time being essentially beheaded.
Insurance has been GREAT, getting remediation and pest control in there the next morning. Unfortunately it all comes with a price tag. This fundraiser aims to cover the deductible, the repairs not covered by insurance, and a start on the pest treatments.
I'll share photos in an update below, because it makes my skin crawl.
BTW, from Lorelei: "2024 is sooooo fired!"
