Defend Freedom of Speech by supporting Dr. Kil's fight for justice!

In the midst of the tumultuous attacks on free speech in higher education, concerned faculty recognize the need to support those facing disciplinary action for their protest of genocide in Gaza.

Most recently Dr. Sang Hea Kil (they/she) has been threatened with termination by California State University, San Jose which would violate any tenure protections that once served as a safeguard for academics to speak truth to power without retaliation. This attack on Dr. Kil’s position and tenure is a direct result of repressive policies in institutions of higher education that continue to benefit from the genocide in Gaza through their contracts with weapon manufacturers and Israeli institutions.

Not only are Dr. Kil and others like them facing threats to their livelihood, but this repression would set a dangerous precedent for the elimination of tenure and the repression of free speech in academia.
