DEFEND DIGNITY - ESSENTIAL PROTECTIVE GEAR INITIATIVE
Unprecedented global threats call for unified community action and support, now, more than ever, and
while we are distanced physically, it is urgent that we come together and join the dots as never before.
During this pandemic.... and hopefully beyond, we are learning and will continue to learn, just how
integrally we are all connected.... while some of us may have ample resources, we are quickly
discovering that supplies we previously took for granted are scarce and elusive.
This virus will not discriminate based on socio-economic levels, gender, age, or geography. With the peak of the “curve” rapidly approaching, supplies are needed.... QUICKLY.
For the past twenty-eight years, ECOTEX has been a pioneer in the development of sustainable and eco-friendly textiles. We are utlizing our multi-national sourcing and logistics capabilities to respond to the current COVID-19 emergency. We have been in communication with CDC and FDA registered resources, and while we are able to access critical, certified supplies, shipping/freight charges have become exorbitantly and prohibitively expensive. It is our intention to raise a minimum of $250,000.00 to cover all costs, including shipping and handling charges for the following:
• N95 NIOSH: CDC certified, used by healthcare workers- to be distributed to healthcare workers
only & first responders.
• Isolation gowns, face shields, goggles, hazmat suits, and gloves- these will be distributed among healthcare workers and first responders.
• KN95: Almost identical, FDA approved... recently, the CDC advised this mask may also be worn by
Healthcare workers. ·
• Disposable surgical three-layer blue masks & gloves.
Our goal is to also provide much needed equipment to the heroes caring for our communities. In addition, our intention is also to serve those in more marginalized areas of our community, those who urgently need protective gear, yet are overlooked. We are honored to focus on contributing a portion of the disposable masks and gloves available, to The Midnight Mission. Founded in 1914, The Midnight Mission offers a way to self-sufficiency for men, women and children that are experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles.... We must see to it that EVERYONE is cared for, especially our neighbors who may have less access to adequate hygiene and facilities, yet greater chance of exposure to the
infection.
Now is the time to ACT. Now is the time to coordinate efforts and resources so that we all can meet again, on the other side of that curve. Thank you.
