Defend Black unionized workers' human rights

Donation protected
The Coalition of Black Trade Unionists Canada (CBTU) is preparing a submission to intervene in a process currently underway at the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario (HRTO), which will decide whether unionized employees in Ontario will have continued access to the HRTO. The CBTU is intervening to ensure that the experiences of Black workers who face anti-Black racism in their workplaces are fully represented and taken into consideration.

The CBTU submission will defend the right of Black unionized employees and all unionized employees to continue to have the right to file applications at the HRTO in response to workplace-based violations of their human rights.

This fundraising appeal supports the legal costs of preparing the CBTU's formal submission to the HRTO.

The CBTU is a non-profit, volunteer-led organization that relies on donations from members and supporters. We are grateful for any support you can provide in our fight to defend the rights of Black workers in Ontario and to end anti-Black racism at work, in our communities, and in society at large.
