Help Zachary Polek march with Spartan’s Drum and Bugle Corps

My name is Zachary Polek, and it is a massive dream of mine to march in a drum corp. I signed on with the Spartans Drum and Bugle Corps for 2025 seasonand am embarking on my journey into the world of Drum Corps. I have overcome numerous obstacles in developing my musicianship, improving my physical health, and even learning the baritone; earning the opportunity to march with an Open class (and soon to be World class :D) drum corps.
I have marched with the Quakertown Panther Marching band for 5 years, playing the trombone. Marching with Quakertown Percussion for 2 years, where I learned how to play the synth and bass drum. Attending Drum Corps International (DCI) shows in Allentown I have had my mind blown with all the possibilities in the marching arts. I loved it so much I investigated and found the Spartans where I will be performing for the first time in their 2025 season. I could not be more excited to perform on the same field as my heroes when we participate at the Allentown show this summer.
I partake in this activity for two massive reasons:
1. The marching arts have been pivotal to my growth as both an individual and a musician. Marching with the Quakertown Panther Marching Band and Quakertown Indoor Percussion have taught me lessons in the importance of a strong supportive community, the effects of continuous hard work, as well as values of perseverance. The activity has shaped me into the person I am today and I strive to continue this growth.
2. Drum Corps is incredibly inspiring; I have seen some truly amazing things done throughout this activity leaving me awestruck. I can point out numerous moments in some of my favorite shows that leave me with the feeling of “I want to do that”. Not only would drum corps be a life changing experience, but it goes beyond me. My participation in this group allows me to put forth my best effort and to inspire the next generation of like-minded students to embark on the journey themselves
The last obstacle I need to overcome is the financial obligation. My goal will cover tuition, equipment, travel and other various expenses adding up to this being an insanely costly experience. As a full-time student at Temple University studying Music Education the money required to participate feels insurmountable to achieve sometimes.
Any contribution, whether big or small, is helpful. If you are unable to donate, sharing this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all for hearing me out and helping me partake in my dream!
Here are some of the shows that continue to inspire me to showcase what this activity is about:
