Dee Singley, loving mother, grandmother, wife and friend to countless people passed away Thursday, October 1st, 2015. Her sudden passing has shocked the community and left her family and friends devastated. She shared her home and heart with her husband of 45 years, Jim, and their 10 year old grandson, Tristan, whom they are raising. Dee was a huge presence in the antiques community and a refuge of hope for all creatures, great and small. Her passing has left a hole in the hearts and lives of all who have known her.
To know Dee was to love her. There was nothing that woman did that she didn't do with her whole heart. From nursing a orphaned starling back to health that had fallen from the nest, to painstakingly breathing life back into an antique table that had been passed over by many as "trash". Dee Dee's eyes never saw anything as damaged. She saw the potential in chipped and flaking paint, the beauty hidden under muddy, malnourished fur and the love behind timid, tired eyes, no matter how many legs were below them. She saw the curiosity and wonder in my eyes when I was just a child, that grew into love and admiration as an adult.
Dee's passing has left not only a void in out hearts, but also in the financial future of those she left behind. She fought tooth and nail to ensure a stable and loving future for her grandson, Tristan. Just 2 short weeks before her passing, she was awarded custody of Tristan. Unfortunately, Dee was the only one listed on the custody papers, leaving Jim with no legal custody of Tristan. With the unexpected expenses associated with Dee's death, as well as the loss of her income, providing for his grandson and now the legal fees to gain custody of his only grandson, Jim is understandably concerned with how to provide the kind of future for his grandson that he and Dee had dreamed of. If you can find it in your hearts to help, please donate. There's no amount too small and everything collected goes to the family to help with bills, death expenses and making sure Tristan always has a loving, stable home.
Please donate if you are able. Thank you for caring.
