Dee’s medical nightmare

We weren’t able to go public with this story until now. I want to get this out on social media in hopes that it leads us to answers, advice, and/or recommendations.
My Aunt Dee had surgery many months ago now at Northwest Medical Center. The surgery was supposed to help her stop falling. Everything went well post op but soon later the pain became extreme and uncontrollable. My Aunt Dee was treated like she was faking it for pain pills. After ignoring her for way to long they finally decided to do testing. Testing showed she needed emergency surgery but because the team didn’t act when they should of.. the damage was severe. My Aunt Dee is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. Such a kind heart. Because of the neglect from her healthcare team… she can now do absolutely nothing for herself. (The Doctor that preformed her emergency surgery was amazing) Her hands are constricted with no movement in her arms or legs. Dee needs therapy so bad… but our great Medicare system only covered one month of therapy. Everything else would have to be out of pocket and if you work in healthcare… then you know it’s almost impossible to pay for out of pocket.
Their first problem is of course needing to find affordable therapy. Dees husband is currently doing everything for her. If you have any tips or suggestions please reach out!
Their second problem here is finding a good affordable lawyer. We got her medical records but no nursing/doctor notes which is what we need to look at to prove being neglected. When calling to ask a second time, northwest said they provided everything they have. I think it’s interesting as well that the two doctors who operated on her are now no longer employed there.
Their third problem is money. They now have a lot of expensive changes to make in their home. One of them being a tub made for disabilities. They are retired and having to pay on medical medical bills on top of the usual home bills.
I am setting up this go fund me to help them out even if it is just a little bit of money. I can not imagine having your life ripped away like that especially over negligence. They have been really struggling. Any amount of money would be so appreciated. I’m hoping to help take some anxiety away from them as they are still learning how to live this new way of life and hopefully raise money for therapy.
Like I said please reach out with any suggestions or advice. Thank you for reading her story and thank you if you donated!
