Dee's Fire Recovery: 50 Years of Home Gone
Donation protected
My mom, Dee Lawless, has lost her Altadena home of 50 years to the Eaton Fire. As many of you know, our family house was nothing less than magical and the central hub for anyone and everyone in our lives. My parents made this house a home in the early 1970s shortly before marriage. My brother, Todd, and I spent beloved childhood moments here. Many years of traditions, dinners, easters, surprise birthdays, thanksgivings and everything in between brought family and friends together in our living room and front yard. The memories will live on forever, but all things are lost including generational photo albums, vintage cars, computers, clothes, wedding rings, equipment, and many hand-crafted furniture/paintings by my late dad.
She and the cats, Roscoe and Gracie, are safe and healthy and that is what truly matters. We've received an outpouring of love, support and donations already so this fundraiser is for folks who are still wanting to send help to my mom for the essentials she will need in the upcoming months. The next steps and processes are daunting, but we are staying afloat and strong with the help of loved ones and kind strangers.
Many of our friends have also tragically lost everything they own and our hearts are with all community members who have fallen victim to these unforgiving Los Angeles fires.
With love,
Erica
