Dee's battle against Uterine Cancer!

Donation protected

You have a stage four cancer...

As I sat in my hospital bed, I silently processed this diagnosis. After months of suffering discomfort and extreme abdominal pain, I finally knew what I was battling.

In July 2022, I began to feel something was wrong physically from my abdominal / pelvic region.

From August to November 2022 I went to the hospital a total of eleven times before I was admitted and diagnosed with an aggressive stage four uterine cancer.

Once admitted into the hospital, my body began experiencing the beginning stages of kidney failure due to an enlarged uterus placing pressure on my ureters. An urgent procedure was done by placing a temporary tube inside my kidney to help relieve urine and not over work the right kidney.

I remained in the hospital over a month and a half.

My chemotherapy treatments began the night before Thanksgiving and continues.

I now have completed six rounds of chemotherapy, have had the tube removed from my kidney as my kidney function has been restored to normal, and surgery done in April 2023.

On May 26, 2023...

I am back in the hospital, battling a "reoccurring" cancer that as spread into the brain from my uterine cancer. I appreciate any donations and all your support during this curve in life as I work with my medical team to plan my upcoming MRI and next plan of action.

July 5,2023 UPDATE

A task, an experience that will always be included in your life story, has been done. Yesterday, I completed ten sessions of radiation treatments for six brain tumors that were caused by Uterine cancer that chemotherapy unfortunately was not able to prevent. But, it is with great and deep appreciation for the correct medical services, medical teams (doctors, nurses, HSAs, trained supportive medical professionals like the physical therapy staff in the Acute Rehabilitation unit) that I share my experience with you in hopes that my story can help someone else.

Please see my donation links below, and thank you for your support:

It has been an emotional experience learning to let go of my hair, to lose my physical strength, and to push through life with this diagnosis.

But this journey is still a work in progress as I continue to fight back against cancer.

Thank you for those who have shown and continue to show their love /support and who have been there by my side.

I am also blessed to have an amazing oncologist who guides me through this journey.

This journey has taught me how overlooked / underserved women's reproductive health is and how important advocating for ourselves needs to be.
