What are we doing?
On Thursday, 17 July, the Deer Park children and staff will once again be setting off to walk a combined total of over 3,000 kilometres to raise money for their school.
This will be the fourth time that our community comes together collectively like this to fundraise for our school. We hope this is an inspiring and memorable day for the children, staff and volunteers and one that becomes a much loved tradition for our school's community.
On the day, every Deer Park child will complete an age-appropriate walking challenge in Richmond Park with their teachers. Walking distances range from 2 km to 12 km, which we believe to be both achievable and challenging for the children and a true opportunity for them to display the Deer Park School HEART values. All children will finish their walking challenges at Petersham Gate and participate in a whole school celebratory picnic before returning to school.
What are we raising money for?
The last two year's Sponsored Walks have raised a combined total of over £12,500 for the school. This has directly funded initiatives such as:
-covering fees associated with using Marble Hill Park for outdoor PE lessons
-purchasing new sports equipment for the school
-purchasing netting at the back of the playground
-ensuring the art room is fully stocked with resources
This year we are once again raising funds to allocate to the provision of sports and art at the school.
Our fundraising target this year is an ambitious £6,500. In recognition of this target and the great challenge that the children will undertake, we are suggesting a donation starting at £10 per child.
We encourage children to ask extended family, friends and neighbours to sponsor them as well, so do share the below link with them too!
Thank you so much for supporting your child and Deer Park School!
