"Deer friends" of R.M. Gunn Memorial

Our sweet Dad, R.M. Gunn, was known to the community of Azle and Azle Manor as the deer man. He fed the deer for our mother when she was there and it quickly became a nightly ritual that many would bring their children and grandchildren to watch. The deer would come out of the woods when he drove up and he had them feeding out of his hands. Once our mother passed, he continued to feed them because he knew the joy it brought her and so many of the residents and their families. When he was unable to continue his beloved time of feeding them our dear friend, Tom Wiley, picked up where he left off. We would love to purchase deer feeders to place around the property so all residents will have an opportunity to witness the beauty and serenity of these majestic creatures. We will also purchase benches to be placed around the facility so families can gather and watch the time honored tradition of calling them up nightly for their feeding.
