On the morning of Sunday January 3rd, my good friend, Gary Krier, rushed his beautiful wife, DeeLois to the hospital by ambulance. Several hours later it was determined that she had Covid 19 and pneumonia! Over the next several days her condition deteriorated and DeeLois was placed on a ventilator in ICU.
Gary and DeeLois have been married for 35 years and a few years ago they became the legal guardians of their granddaughter, Lily. She is now a happy third-grader who has been thriving under Gary and DeeLois' love and care. Lily has been a blessing in Gary and DeeLois' life as much as they have been to hers. A lot of that responsibility was on DeeLois. It wasn't what she expected to be doing at 67 but being a woman filled with the love of Jesus Christ, she took every opportunity to pour her faith and love into Lily. Watching Gary and DeeLois care for their granddaughter has been a beautiful experience to witness.
We were very hopeful that DeeLois would recover and come home to Gary and Lily. She fought Covid for nearly six weeks but in the end she wasn't strong enough. Gary and their children made the decision to release DeeLois to her Lord and Savior rather than have her suffer here. On February 11th this brave woman of God went to heaven and to her reward. The beauty of DeeLois' life in Christ is that she lived and served well and that she had no fear of death. She was truly a gift to those who knew her and she left us too soon. Many of us have experienced the loss of friends and family to Covid 19, it has wrecked our world!
Gary and Lily now face a life without DeeLois. After such a long stay in the ICU there are significant medical expenses. Gary is 71 and has been a successful builder in the years past. However, 2020 was disruptive to Gary's income and he now needs to recover financially. He would also like to start a fund for Lily's education.
Gary and DeeLois have been some of the most generous Givers I've ever known. For years they have supported ministries and missions around the world as well as help countless individuals. Many people have asked me how they could contribute and help the Krier family? I sought legal counsel and he suggested that I set this GoFundMe profile up so that all the contributions can go directly to Gary and Lily.
At this stage of his life, Gary never imagined himself as a single-parent of a nine-year-old girl. He is one of the youngest most vibrant 71 year-olds you'll ever see. With our help he will meet this challenge and continue the work that he and DeeLois started of raising Lily into the woman of God she will become and see her carry on the legacy of her grandmother.
On behalf of the Krier family, thank you for your prayers and support.
