Help Support Deedra’s Children After Her Sudden Passing

On September 7th, 2025, our family experienced a devastating loss. My beloved sister, Deedra Cheatham, passed away suddenly and left behind her two beautiful children—Makayla (21) and Makai (9).

The heartbreaking events of that day are something her children will carry with them forever. Makayla, in shock and panic, tried desperately to wake her mother while calling 911 multiple times, only to be hung up on twice. On the third attempt, she was instructed to do chest compressions—something she didnt have experience with. Despite her instructions and efforts and the eventual arrival of paramedics over 20 minutes later, it was too late.

Deedra’s passing has left her children not only with deep emotional pain but also with an uncertain future. This tragedy was completely unexpected, and there was no financial preparation in place for such a loss.

Now, Makayla and Makai face a long road ahead. They will need support with basic living expenses, school needs, counseling, and long-term stability as they navigate life without their mother.
