DeeDee's fight against Breast Cancer

Donation protected

DeeDee Baker is from Shallowater, Texas; a teacher at Wylie High School in Abilene, Texas, and a graduate of Texas Tech University.
This beautiful and brilliant teacher, loving wife and devoted mom to Baylen, Brodey and Bryson, recently found out she has breast cancer. Thankfully her husband, James, kept pushing her to go get a lump checked out. A few weeks after having a mammogram and ultrasound, she received the news that she has stage 2b triple negative breast cancer.
DeeDee will begin round one of kicking cancer’s butt Thursday, October 17, 2019, when she has her port put in. As of right now, three possibly four different kinds of chemo will be used. After chemo and possibly radiation, DeeDee will then discuss having a lumpectomy or mastectomy. At this point, because of the aggressiveness of this cancer, DeeDee is praying for a mastectomy.
DeeDee has not only raised her three boys, but she has also inspired and mentored countless other children during her 25 years of teaching including my son, Trey, who probably made her want to pull out her hair several days a week (sorry about that DeeDee). For the past 8 years, she has also had a huge roll in planning and organizing the National Down syndrome Society Buddy Walk to help raise money and awareness for Down syndrome.
She has been there for so many in an incredibly selfless manner so now it’s our turn to be there for her and her family.
Although DeeDee has health insurance, it does not cover everything. Please help me show DeeDee that she and her family are not alone and we are here to help.  Any donations or words of encouragement are greatly appreciated. Thank you for your love, compassion, prayers and support!
Also, thank you for the support so many of you have provided to the family in a multitude of ways since DeeDee’s diagnosis. Please continue to pray for the Baker family and other families going through similar experiences.
