DeeDee Yoches is a SURVIVOR! Against all odds & a 2012 prognosis of 6-12 months, DeeDee survived Stage 4 Lung Cancer after partial lung removal, removal of both adrenal glands & almost a year of chemo. Two years later, she survived literally dying after going into cardiac arrest from lack of steroids for her adrenal deficiency, spending a month in the hospital. That lack of oxygen created several additional health issues. But DeeDee is a FIGHTER! And it is obvious God has a purpose for her to yet remain on this earth. Since her cancer diagnosis, Jack & "Doni" have given her two beloved grandchildren, the most precious joy in the productive life she now lives, in spite of her disabilities not allowing her to return to the career she loved.
Last week, we sat painfully stunned as a neurosurgeon told us that DeeDee has BRAIN CANCER, a malignancy in the basal ganglia about the size of a hard-boiled egg yolk. That location is in the middle of the head, and difficult to reach. The 'Fighter' only wanted to know what she had to do to get rid of it. At this time, the plan is gamma knife radiation treatments, with regular MRI's to check the progress. There is no gauge to determine up front how prolonged or extensive the treatment will be. DeeDee's insurance/disability pay will not cover these immediate exorbitant costs; specialists co-pays are already a stress. Thus, I am humbly asking our friends and family to HELP DeeDee FIGHT this new battle, because she refuses to surrender to the war of cancer. Anything given adds up, and will be tremendously appreciated. Thank You!
