Hello everyone I created this GoFundMe to help support my sister Dee and our family. When I first set it up, I felt so helpless — watching her go through everything she has been facing and not being able to make things better was one of the hardest things. I thought this could be one small way to help, and it truly has made a big difference.
Dee has been in the hospital 4 hours away, and through it all her parents have been right by her side. My hope was to make things just a little easier for them while they focused on what matters most being there for Dee. We are so grateful for every single person who has donated, shared, or sent prayers our way.
The good news is that Dee is doing SO much better now! She’s currently in rehab, working hard every day to get stronger and preparing to come home soon. The love and support you’ve given has carried us through this journey, and we couldn’t be more thankful.

DeeAmbra, who is only 24, grew up attending local events, making lifelong friends, and building strong community ties. She trained for years at Bailey’s Karate, earning her brown belt through hard work and dedication. She attended both Oriskany High School and Rome Free Academy, and she is an active member of Rome Trinity Church, where she has always found support and encouragement.
Recently, DeeAmbra underwent a liver transplant. Unfortunately, she has faced complications afterward. Doctors found possible signs of infection affecting her new liver and performed a biopsy to learn more. When they tried to remove her from the ventilator, she was not yet able to breathe on her own, so she will continue to need support in the ICU for at least two more months for further monitoring and treatment.
Her dad has been by her side through every step of this fight, while her mom continues working to keep up with household bills and still manages to travel back and forth to be with DeeAmbra as much as possible. It’s getting harder for them to manage the emotional and financial strain of this long hospital stay.
We are kindly asking for your support — whether that means sharing DeeAmbra’s story, donating, or simply keeping her in your prayers. Every bit of help is deeply appreciated and truly makes a difference for her and her family.❤️
UPDATE
DeeAmbra was matched with an organ donor this weekend. She was very lucky because the odds of finding one was very small. She underwent surgery on Sunday and now she is in the ICU in Westchester medical center. She is in the early stages of recovery right now. Her medical team is monitoring her closely to see how the organ is adjusting to her body. This is a delicate time and while there is long road ahead of her, we are encouraged by her strength. Her parents are always by her side. As their world crumbles around them the world keeps moving. They are traveling back and forth to the hospital to be by her side. The hospital is four hours from home and the frequent trips back and forth have been incredibly taxing for the family. Between long travel days, medical appointments, work, and time away from work, it's been a lot to manage both physically and emotionally.
On going donations continue to be a real help in easing these burdens - from gas, lodging, to meals and other unexpected expenses during this difficult, terrifying period.
Most of all, my family asks for continued prayers. your prayers have meant so much, and we strongly believe in the power of prayer.
Thank you for keeping DeeAmbra in your thoughts and prayers. We will continue to post any updates as she makes her progress.
UPDATE
DeeAmbra has been placed on the transplant donor list! A very important step in her healing journey.
She’s still at Westchester Medical Center, far from home, with her parents by her side every single day. They’re doing everything they can to support her, but the costs of travel, lodging, and hospital bills are adding up.
We’re humbly asking for a little help to lighten their load, so they can keep focusing on being with Dee and giving her all the love she needs.
DeeAmbra BadYellowHair, is just 24 years old — a kind, vibrant young woman with so much life ahead of her. Unfortunately, she was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that attacks her liver and other organs. Right now, she's in the hospital facing a serious health battle with liver failure and needs a liver transplant.
She’s currently being treated at Albany Medical Hospital, but her doctors say she needs to be transferred to Westchester Medical Transplant Center for specialized care that could help her recover.
DeeAmbra could not work any longer due to her illness and had to quit her job because she was so tired all the time and the job required a lot of attention.
Unfortunately, we’ve run into a difficult situation. DeeAmbra’s insurance coverage has ended, and the transfer won’t happen without having medical insurance.
Our family is doing everything we can, but we can’t do this alone. We’re reaching out with open hearts, asking for support whether it’s a donation, a share, or a prayer.
DeeAmbra has always shown up for others with love and strength. Now, she needs us to show up for her.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for standing with our family in this moment.
