Dee's Serious Cancer Fund

In January2020 I was diagnosed with what we thought was advanced endometrial cancer. It all began with my not breathing well - VERY short of breath - and it was getting worse by the day.  My son finally insisted I go to my primary care doctor and that led to a chest x-ray which led to a CT scan which led to a CT scan with contrast which led to my son taking me to the ER at CHOMP where I was admitted for 48 hours.  There they performed a thoracentesis and removed 1.7 liters of fluid from next to my right lung.  In that fluid they found cancer cells which led to my diagnosis.  I met my oncologist that evening who set me up with a PICC line in my left arm and another CT scan with contrast (giving the PICC line a dry run).  The lymph nodes all over my abdominal cavity were enlarged - not a good sign.  Since then the PICC line has been removed; a port installed on my chest under the skin and a  lymph node at the base of my neck has been biopsied for testing.  I had my first chemo infusion on Feb 12 - a few good days, then felt really sick and rocky for a few days and now on the chemo cycle upswing I was told to expect. I don't know how many more infusions there will be -but this will be a long term deal.  The length all depends upon how well my body responds to the treatment regimen .  I've already had to go back for 2 more thoracentesis procedures - the fluid keeps building up and has to be removed.
Turns out I have a genetic marker  BRCH1 (think it's called) and am predisposed to ovarian and breast cancer.  And now with the latest CT scan on July 3rd we discovered that I have one of the most rare cancers a woman can have - the main tumor is on the inside of the lining of my abdominal cavity  with abdominal and lower chest cavity lymph nodes involved - stage 4, people.....Blood work done on July 7 showed a huge increase in my CA125 cancer antigen count - from 921 up to 2170 - so the cancer is growing at a fairly rapid pace.  I'm still hoping for a positive outcome but preparing for the worst.  JAZ and I have hugged and cried. Darth JAZ's cat has not left my side today (July 8).
We have done paperwork - Advance Health Care Directive and Durable Power of Attorney appointing JAZ in charge since he is my only chicken and my stalwart caregiver and heir and a simple will leaving everything to him.

Thanks to donations I've been able to keep up with all the co-pays - ER visits, doctor appointments, prescriptions.
I've also been able to keep up with the bills - but still owe my dentist and the community water company (thank heavens they can't shut me off).

Chemo infusions were doing OK  until I was suddenly highly allergic to Taxel and went into major shock and all the infusion nurses rushed in and saved my life on March 3rd.  The oncologist put me on Gemzar with the Carboplaten and I had severe reactions to the Gemzar so then it was just Carboplaten and with the second infusion of Carboplaten my numbers began to rise.....then my platelets dropped below the safe level so even the Carboplaten infusion was cancelled for June 24  and here I am with a real tumor seen by the CT scan and a CA 125 count of 2170.   I want to curse at the universe

I do have jewelry I've made for sale on Deez Bead Designz on facebook. Please look up that page -the jewelry is arranged in photo albums with descriptions and pricing - some has been sold but a lot is still available.   I'd love to sell you a piece or two - earrings, bracelets and necklaces - many different styles - check them all out.  JAZ takes orders to the post office for me.  No more craft shows or music venues at which to sell thanks to the coronavirus so my FB jewelry page is my only outlet.

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for helping me through what is the toughest time I have ever had to face.  And please send lots of positive vibes, payers and well wishes.
