Dee is going to Hollywood, CA.

Greetings Everyone! I created this Fundraiser because this young lady has been diligent in her efforts to make her dreams come true and when you have youth that want to do something positive in their life, we should encourage and support them because we never know who they may turn out to be, in this case, the next Naomi Campbell or Tyra Banks...the list goes on. This is my daughter, Dee, who is now 19 years old, from Williamston, SC; 2021 Palmetto High School graduate, Part-time employee at the local McDonalds, and wants to pursue her career in Modeling. Dee has had many struggles, she was born 2 months prematurely and died less than 24 hours after birth.  Because of this, she struggled in school and was diagnosed with damage to her Long Term Memory, ADHD, Learning Disabilities, Asthma and Severe Acid Reflux. As her parent, i refused to allow her to grow up using any of her Medical Diagnosis as a crutch. Her father died when she was 18 months.  By 9th grade, Dee was truly struggling. She failed 9th grade 3 times because she struggled to pass English and Math. After a school in Greenville County suggested that I should place her in an Occupational Program where she could attend a local Career Center and graduate with a Certificate, i became furious! I remember smacking the table with tears flowing down my face and i said, "As her mother, it is my job to fight for her. By law, you will teach her until she is 21. It may take her longer but it is an honor to me to watch her walk across the stage. 12 years for a certificate is not going to work. She is not dumb and we have to figure out how to help!" Mrs. C, an awesome Resource Teacher, whom has been her "Schoolmom", was very patient, dedicated and worked effortlessly; alongside me, in the fight to make sure this young lady would succeed in getting her diploma. 2020, we moved to my hometown of Williamston. I felt a small, country school would be better suited for her learning style. Best move i made; for her and her brother, and the Most High was on one accord with me. Mrs. C was here too! Dee graduated after completing 13 credits in her Senior year. She beat all odds. She graduated on time in the year she was supposed to. I was so proud. As an outlet from all the stress, I signed her up with Millie Lewis School of Modeling, Greenville, SC, in her 9th grade year. She began to have a strong interest. She walked her first runaway under Millie Lewis at the Haywood Mall, in front of the entrance of Belks, Greenville, SC. I have been a single parent all her life, so, financially it was difficult at times but i have raised my children to not live their lives based on their poverty level. Just because you are struggling doesn't mean give up on your dreams, you just have to work harder to get there but it will be worth it. I work up to 3 jobs and many hustles to maintain the household and her dream. I have a loving and supportive family that stepped in many times in different roles to help me give her a positive in all the negative and we are grateful. Dee started at McDonalds working part-time at age 16 because she wanted to be a help to me but i wouldn't allow it. God had greater for her and i knew as long as i had breathe and ability, i was going to hold us down and i did. She now has 3 years in, waking up to be at work by 4AM, now only 3 days out of the week, but has picked up more hours when allowed to help. She has paid for every event she has been in. She never gave up. I recently came across an ad on Facebook, after looking up agents for her and found an audition in Augusta, GA. I didn't know how we were going to do it but we used everything we had to make the first trip down. Out of 250 ppl, she received her Callback so we had to go back the next day. She was one of the top 15 and here we are...GOING TO HOLLYWOOD! Now, that she has this "YES", the final is when she is signed. Please help us in making this dream a reality. She has come so far but we truly need the help of sponsors to get us to Hollywood. Here is an estimated and rounded breakdown of the expenses: Hotel (6 days @ $199.00 (Discounted rate) + fees and taxes) $1500.00, Airfare + baggage (Roundtrip up to $1000.00 Economic) $2000.00, Production Package $4250.00. Totaling an estimated amount of $8000.00. I was there and spoke with the owner and met one of the Celebrity Models that is training Dee, Miss Sharhonda, from Americas Next Top Model; one of the many that are assigned to work with her up to the production in October of 2022.
