Leslie Peterson has been a brilliantly effective servant to her community for many years now. Both through her employment and thousands of hours of volunteer labor, she has devoted herself to providing opportunities and support to a wealth of residents of our region—small business owners, families, women, farmers, students, people in addiction recovery, victims of disaster and many more. She has led, for example, in the development of an innovation center for entrepreneurs, a community wellness center, and in program support for addiction recovery and prevention. Few among us put their care for humanity into action in the ways that she has. I am hoping now that the community that she has supported so lovingly faithfully might return some of that support. Following numerous tests, scans, and meds, Leslie is scheduled for major reconstructive surgery to deal with skin cancer. Unfortunately, even with insurance coverage, she is currently faced with $15,500 in medical expenses. We all know that non-profit work is more a calling rather than a high-dollar job. So I reach out with hopes that you will contribute to this fund to help Leslie through this challenging time and to express gratitude to someone who will always, through her strong compassion, pay forward the love that you show her.
