Dedicate a memorial to Matt Everett

The sudden loss of our friend and co-worker, brother, uncle, and son Matt Everett on August 4, 2022 has left many of us wanting to do something in his memory. You may know that Matt was a nature enthusiast, and one of his favorite places was Grimes Glen, in Naples, NY. We have reached out to Ontario County, which runs the park, and asked if we can create a memorial there for Matt. Matt's brother says that Matt used to love to go to parks and sit on benches and just enjoy the surroundings, so we have decided to purchase a bench in his memory. The slats will be engraved with:

Top slat: ~In Loving Memory of Matt Everett~

Slat 2: “It’s not the time in your life,

Slat 3: it’s the life in your time.”

Slat 4: -Bruce Springsteen

The Parks department will install a concrete pad for the bench to be attached to, most likely in the spring. The picture above shows that the bench will be located near the trail head, overlooking the stream and a small waterfall. Visitors to the park will be able to sit and enjoy the park, much like Matt would have. We are raising money for the bench and for the concrete. Any additional funds will be given to the family for a fund for Matt's beloved nephew, Ben.
