Thank you for visiting and learning my story. I am so grateful for your support as I face this financial and health challenge.
Dede is a loving, hard-working, single mother of three great kids, Devon, Alex, and Aidan. She’s a rock for those kids, who she raised on her own, independently and with a fierce belief that if she tried her best, gave her best, she could see them leave the nest and spread their wings into their own bright futures. So, working two jobs to make certain these kids have what they need has been “easy” for Dede, in that she would do anything for them.
However, last month Dede felt a lump in her breast, and went straight in to her doctor in hopes that it would be dismissed as a cyst. Not a week later, her once predictable routine had been upended by doctor visits, surgeons, oncologists. In a blink of a day, her family’s life has changed. Dede has invasive ductal carcinoma (breast cancer).
Time, patience, prayers and some serious action are going to help take this cancer on, so Dede can get healthy again. However, Dede’s work is very physical and requires being in public, two things the doctors told her to avoid after her mastectomy, which took place last week. She will go through aggressive chemo treatments, and it’s imperative to stay as healthy as possible during this time. So, Dede will need to working limited hours for up to 5 months, which is simply another devastating blow to a single mother and sole provider of her family.
Any support you can offer Dede and her family will go toward medical bills, prescriptions, necessary prosthetics, house payments, food — you name it - Even insurance payments, to keep her on track with her treatment. Dede needs a bit of financial reprieve, for the next 5 months, to take this thing on, and take it on with as little stress as possible. We want to help; so, we’re asking for your support.
Anything you can offer, is so appreciated and will help carry this lovely family along during the hard journey toward reclaimed health and a beautiful life.
From the depth of my heart helping my friend, Dede Strawn
