Hello, we are the DeCou’s! Cameron (aka Dad), Elisha (aka Mom) and Anastasia (aka baby). Our story starts in California, we got married in 2017, held many odd jobs and by 2018 decided we would like to move out of the state. So far 2019 has been pretty eventful. We got pregnant, found out our baby girl has some pretty serious health issues, Cameron got a great new job in Michigan, and now that we are officially settling down here, life is a little crazy and complicated.

We arrived in Michigan on July 6th, Cameron began working at his new job on July 8th, and we have been going non-stop since then. Baby Anastasia was born on September 24th and went in for open heart surgery on September 30th. We signed a new apartment lease the following day and have been moving stuff in slowly.

Anastasia is in the recovery process and is doing very well. She has a long road ahead of her which will include more surgeries and specialized care as she grows. We are very hopeful and we have so much joy from her already but the future is daunting.

Additionally, as if life couldn’t get any crazier, we got into a car wreck on Friday, October 4th. The only injury sustained was Cameron’s broken arm which (thankfully) will not require surgery but will take some time to recover. The financial hardship arises from the fact that our new 2019 car we’ve only had for 5 months is now totaled and there is still a significant portion of the loan that will remain outstanding (about $14,000, due to the circumstances that led us into financing that vehicle). We are not sure how all of this is going to shake out but we have been encouraged by several people to ask for help and see what assistance is out there for us.

With the baby’s medical care, Cameron’s injuries, the car being totaled, and the financial strain of moving across the country, we are humbly asking for any help you can give. First and foremost, please share our story and extend the network of prayer around our new family. Secondly, if you are able, please donate whatever you can to help offset the many many expenses that are coming our way.

Thank you for your prayers and support,

Cameron, Elisha, and Anastasia Grace DeCou
