Logline:

A man wakes up alone in a dark surreal forest with nothing but a radio and a fragmented memory.

Director's Note:

For some, after suffering a bereavement or dramatic life change, an unknown emptiness is felt. When everything feels slightly off, slightly strange. It doesn’t always happen immediately, but when it does life can become dramatically slow, fast or even, surreal.

With this project, I wanted to take this universal experience to the extreme, through the protagonist creating a nightmarish scenario without his immediate knowledge of doing so. A seemingly endless mental labyrinth is created which he can escape if he finds the strength to do so – but when the opportunity to leave arises, would he even want to?

Through atmospheric and analogue-like visuals, sound, and editing, the film will create an immersive study into a quiet yet powerful extremity of grief. Denial that’s so strong, that the character forgets what he’s tried so hard to ignore.
