Hello! My name is Declan, I'm a 29 year old transgender man and it's almost my birthday!
I was looking forward to my 30th birthday - it's representative of a million mile stones in my life. In short - It's my first year as a healthy, happy man. I don't want to spill my guts for pity points, but in the past year I've dealt with a lot of demons and it's been tremendous work to be person I am today.
I was excited to spend it with all my dear friends, but of course it is absolutely not worth the risk.
My silver lining, though, is that someone cancelled their surgery appointment on October 16th, so I was able to book with a surgeon who takes my insurance before I have to switch plans in the beginning of next year.
It's been an absolute whirlwind of emotions, but it seemed like the world was telling me 'Now is your chance!' and I couldn't turn it down.
I am, however, not a wealthy man. I work a full time job, and I have an Etsy shop I'm using to make ends meet. But I have a high deductible with my insurance plan, and it's an inpatient procedure so I'll have to stay overnight.
The world is a crazy place right now - so all I can do is ask if you have some spare money you can afford to give me. Anything to make this less hard on me financially means the absolute world to me.
