Support Declan and the O'Donnell Family
Donation protected
Declan O’Donnell lives in Vancouver with his wife and two young daughters. Declan leads a full and vibrant life working as a manager at WeWork, caring for his daughters, and doting on his wife, Kelsey. He loves golfing and football in his spare time. Their family is loved by all who know them, and they are a vital part of work, school, and social communities.
On October 21st Declan experienced concerning symptoms that led him to being admitted into Vancouver General Hospital. After a week of bloodwork, platelet transfusions, and a bone marrow biopsy, Declan has been diagnosed with a condition called Severe Aplastic Anaemia (SAA).
SAA is very rare bone marrow condition that causes low platelets and white blood cell levels. The condition can improve with treatment, but puts people at high risk for bleeding and infection. The treatment can take many months and have severe side effects. During this time Declan will be unable to work.
Declan is now a patient on the Bone Marrow Transplant unit at Vancouver General awaiting treatment. Over the next few weeks he will receive immunosuppressive therapy, and potentially a bone marrow transplant.
Their family is facing a huge amount of uncertainty, as well as emotional and financial stress during Declan’s course of treatment. Please consider donating any amount, small or large, to help support the O’Donnell’s during this stressful time.
The donations will go towards the family’s needs while Declan is undergoing treatment, to supplement the family income, and use for meals, transportation, hospital parking, childcare, and housekeeping.
Thank you for considering a contribution to the O'Donnell family and showing your support in their time of need!
