Hello family and friends,
It has been a great blessing to have the opportunity to be the parents of Decklynn. We asked and prayed and God gave us a beautiful little girl. She was born January 25, 2017 at 9:09am, coming into the world at an even eight pounds and twenty-one inches long.
She was also born with Sagittal Craniosynostosis. This birth defect results in fusion of her skull plates at birth. The plates are supposed to remain open until two years of age and if fused together, her brain will not have room to grow. If not corrected her head will grow into a oblong shape and there will be more problems in the future with pressure/shallowness of the brain. To correct this, they must go in surgically and cut the bone/plate apart and open it back up allowing the brain and skull to grow simultaneously. After surgery she'll have to wear a helmet for the first year of life and be monitored every month to make sure her head grows correctly from then on forward.
With today's technology we were able to receive a 3D reconstructive imaging CT scanof her skull. In result we have pictures of the skull and the area that is fused together.
With a baby we knew there was going to be medical bills, but we had no idea about the extent of what was about to be our biggest obstacle yet. God says ask and you will receive. So here we are asking you as our friends and family if you could not only lift her up in prayers but if your able, help us out financially.
Decklynns surgery is scheduled for May 4, 2017. Please keep her in your prayers as we prepare for surgery, surgery it's self and the days after surgery as she grows into a healthy little girl. Thank you so much. Love you all.
